Lacking the star power of some recent classes, Nebraska high schools will still produce several Division I scholarship players in the Class of 2017. Today we hear from Rivals.com Midwest recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt as he breaks down some of the state's top recruits.

Among the players Helmholdt addresses are Husker commits Austin Allen (Aurora) and Jaylin Bradley (Bellevue West), as well as Chris Walker, the Lincoln East lineman who is verbally committed to Wyoming but recently received a Husker offer. Helmholdt also gives us his national perspective on three other Wyoming recruits, linemen Patrick Arnold (Gretna) and Rudy Stofer (Kearney), as well as linebacker Davon Wells-Ross (Omaha North).

Also part of our conversation is Helmholdt's initial thoughts regarding Nebraska's Class of 2018.

Division I commits from Nebraska high schools not discussed with Helmholdt include Rhett Harms (Crete) and Lane McCallum (Norfolk), both headed to Air Force, and Arthur Egan (Creighton Prep), Dominic Simpson (Papillion-LaVista South) and Noah Urbanek (Kearney), all headed to South Dakota State.
