Nearly 1,200 fans across Nebraska and Oklahoma attended the first-ever 8-Man All-Star Classic in 2006 between the two states held in Miami, Okla. "It was such a success that we have decided to make this an annual event," said Andy Vrbka, President of the Nebraska Eight-Man Football Coaches Association (NEMFCA). "This year we are pleased with the opportunity to partner with Kansas."
The All-Star Game was designed to reward and honor the finest players by exposing their skills in hopes of increasing their chances of playing football at a higher level.
Eight-man football has been strong for Kansas and Nebraska for decades. Several 8-man players from both states have continued to play at major colleges throughout the years. "Kansas and Nebraska are the leaders in the nation when it comes to 8-man football," said Vrbka. "It's exciting to see the top athletes from each of these football states come together and compete. We'll see some incredible talent and athleticism."
"The Nebraska Eight-Man Football Coaches Association has worked very hard to make this an exciting opportunity for the players and because of the support from Pinnacle Bank and Pinnacle Agency, we will be able to do that," said Vrbka. "Pinnacle Bank has a strong commitment to supporting the communities they serve and with over 48 locations across the state of Nebraska, their commitment is significant. We are pleased to be partnering with Pinnacle Bank for the event."
