Coachspeak: Patrick Ningen, Creek Valley

For several years now the Creek Valley football program has suffered through some dark days. Last season was another without a win for the Storm but help is in the way, in the form of a large number of committed young athletes.
New head coach Patrick Ningen returns only one senior on his roster - which is bad - but also returns six starters on offense and five on defense - which is good. Oh, and seven of the key returning players, including two which are team captains, happen to be sophomores - which is very good, indeed.
Creek Valley will be moving up to Class D-1 from Class D-2 and competing in the D1-10 district along with Dundy County-Stratton, defending D-1 state runner-up Hemingford, Morrill, Perkins County and Sutherland.
I spoke with Coach Ningen earlier this week and here is our conversation...
