Tomorrow the summer's most historic all-star game, the 2012 Shrine Bowl, will be held at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff at 1:30 p.m.

It's always good to get back to the business of playing some football and when you assemble your teams from some of the best seniors of 2011, it makes for an entertaining afternoon.

Of course, the Shrine Bowl is about more than football and the children's hospital charities the games support are not only only worthy, they are eye-openers for the players and coaches, who have a chance to learn first-hand the true meaning of the games.

The Shrine Bowl has at times over the years, and increasing fashion, struggled to get some of the biggest names to sign up for the game. This time around there is a good crop of high-level college recruits on the rosters, led by Huskerland's 2011 Mr. Football and future Iowa Hawkeye, Drew Ott of Giltner.

Husker walk-ons who will play for the North will include Ryker Fyfe and Sam Foltz of Grand Island, Jordan Nelson and Mitch McCann of Omaha Burke, Cole Chvatal of Bishop Neumann and Graham Nabity of Elkhorn.

For the South, Husker walk-ons include Trey Foster of defending Class A champion Lincoln Southeast, Brandon Reilly of Lincoln Southwest, Ross Dzuris of Plattsmouth, Dylan Utter of Papillion-LaVista, Garret Johns of Aurora, Andy Janovich of Gretna and Brad Simpson of Ralston.

Head coach for the North will be Travis Hawk of Alliance, while Leigh Schmale of Elmwood-Murdock will be head coach for the South.
