Welcome to the new year and what a great way to ring it in, with the semifinals of the Metro Conference tournament.

Tonight (Tuesday) three-time defending Class A state champion Omaha Central (7-2) will face Millard West (7-2) in the first semifinal game with unbeatens Papillion-LaVista (9-0) and 2012 Class A runner-up Omaha South (9-0) facing off in the second. The games are being played at the historic Civic Center in downtown Omaha.
